1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Turtle Hurdle ("Developer") collects, uses, and discloses information when you use the Turtle Hurdle mobile game ("Game"). By accessing or using the Game, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
2. Information We Collect
Personal Information:
The Game does not require account registration, and we do not knowingly collect names, emails, or addresses. However, for specific features, we generate and store:
- A random, anonymous User ID (UUID) to save your daily reward status.
- A Device Token (FCM Token) to deliver optional remote notifications.
- The broad age band you give on the Game's age screen (for example "9 to 12"), recorded in our analytics. Your exact age never leaves your device.
In addition, for players who indicate they are 18 or over, the advertising SDK reads the advertising identifier that your device provides. We neither generate nor store it ourselves, and it is not transmitted at all for players under 18. See section 5.
In-app purchase transactions are processed via third-party providers (e.g., RevenueCat), who may collect such information as necessary for payment processing.
Usage and Technical Data:
We automatically collect technical data, including device type, operating system, app version, and user interactions. This information is gathered through services such as Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to help us improve the Game's performance and user experience.
3. Use of Information
The collected data is used to:
- Enhance the functionality and performance of the Game
- Manage and deliver daily rewards (Free Bubbles)
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues
- Conduct analytics and crash reporting
- Process in-app purchases through third-party payment services
- Show optional rewarded advertisements, as described in section 5
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms
4. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We may share information with or utilize the following third-party services:
- Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Cloud Messaging, and Cloud Firestore)
- Google AdMob (advertising)
- Trusted third-party service providers who assist in technical operations
- Payment processors (RevenueCat)
- Law enforcement when required by law
We do not sell your information to third parties.
5. Advertising
The Game shows rewarded video advertisements supplied by Google AdMob. These are always optional: an advertisement plays only when you choose to watch one in exchange for a reward. The Game shows no banner, interstitial or pop-up advertising.
Before any advertisement is requested, the Game asks your age once. Your exact age is stored on your device and is never sent to us; we record only the broad age band it falls into (for example "9 to 12") in our analytics, so that we can check the audience we declare to the app stores against the one we actually have. Your answer determines how advertising is requested:
- Under 13. Treated as child-directed. No advertising identifier is transmitted, personalised advertising and remarketing are disabled, and only advertisements rated suitable for all ages are requested.
- 13 to 17. Treated as under the age of consent. Advertising is non-personalised and the advertising identifier is not used to build an advertising profile.
- 18 and over. May receive personalised advertising based on the device's advertising identifier.
In the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, players who indicate they are 18 or over see a consent form on first launch, and can change that choice at any time from the Game's Settings screen under Ad Privacy Options. Players under 18 are not shown the form, because no personalised advertising is requested for them in the first place. On iOS, Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt separately asks whether the app may use the advertising identifier; declining means you receive non-personalised advertising.
Advertising can be removed entirely with the one-off Remove Ads purchase.
6. Data Security and Retention
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data. However, no security method is completely foolproof. Your technical data is retained only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by law.
7. Children's Privacy
The Game is intended for a general audience that includes children. We do not knowingly collect names, email addresses or postal addresses from anyone, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 beyond the anonymous identifiers listed in section 2.
Players who indicate they are under 13 are given child-directed advertising treatment as described in section 5: no advertising identifier is transmitted, and personalised advertising is disabled. If you believe we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

If you are a resident of the European Union or other jurisdictions with similar rights, you may have certain rights under applicable data protection laws, including the right to:
- Access your personal information
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Restrict or object to processing

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted within the Game, and your continued use of the Game after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
Website Analytics
Our website (awkwardturtleapps.com) uses Google Analytics. By default it runs in a cookieless mode that sets no cookies and collects only anonymous, aggregate statistics. If you give consent via the website's cookie banner, Google Analytics cookies are also set to measure how the site is used.
